This is a repository for online recipes that we've tried and would recommend or want to try.
Main Course
- Sour Cream Noodle Bake - Like lasagne without the effort.
- Saag Paneer - Beth introduced us to this recipe. Paneer can be hard to find, Superstore has it. Serve with toasted naan.
- Fettuccine Alfredo
- Beth's recipe for lasagna
- Great all-purpose daal recipe
- Quick and Easy Fish Tacos I laugh every time I even think of fish tacos.
- Beef and Bean Burritos - I used Baldersons sharp cheddar, both Alex and Ben said it was really good which is probably a first ever.
- To try Lentil and Spinach Curry
Slow Cooker
I like slow cooker recipes that don't involve any cooking before throwing it all into the slow cooker.
- Slow Cooker Coconut Chicken Curry - Very mild so great for kids. Spice it up if it's for adults.
Sides
- Jamie Oliver's Roast Potatoes pure awesome.
Soup
- Potato Leek Soup
- Tortilla Soup Almost as good as Salsa and Agave's
Salad
- Vietnamese Salad and Dressing - So so so delicious. Especially the dressing. I'm always a little freaked out when making the dressing because there are so many ingredients I don't use often but it tastes great.
- Spinach Salad - Best spinach salad ever. Seriously.
Appetizer
- Alton Brown's wing recipe; not fried, super awesome.
Dessert
Cakes
- Brownies are brownies cake?
- Excellent White Cake Frosting - good find Beth!
- Coconut Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Icing - lots of complements when I make these, makes too much icing if I remember correctly.
- Nigella's Passion Fruit Cheesecake - a Forsyth favorite, passionfruit pulp available at Gourmet Warehouse, also, use the expensive cream cheese from the organics stores (makes a big difference).
- Alton Brown's coconut cake - Beth's go-to dessert. Sometimes I just use coconut milk instead of making the milk and the cream and the extract. I wish I could remember who it is who hates coconut so I could remember not to make this for them.
Muffins and Breads
- Morning Glory Muffins - I like to mix up this recipe with whatever I have around (chocolate chips, flax seeds, craisins, various nuts). A Forsyth favorite.
- Banana Zucchini Bread - I substituted apple sauce for half of the oil, used whole wheat flour and did half the sugar brown, half white. The bread was moist and delicious.
Beverage
Breakfast
- Banana Oatmeal Pancakes - a favourite, possibly even healthy?
- Italian Strata - great when you are having a crowd over for brunch
Menus
- Easter Menu - delicious, as tested Easter 2011 at the Huel's
Favorite Food Blogs
- The Pioneer Woman Cooks
- Tamra Davis Cooking Show - wife of Mike D.
